Scholars and staff across the trust are today celebrating another year of fantastic GCSE results. More students than ever have achieved top grades in English and Maths. Staff are exceptionally proud of the fantastic achievements that scholars have made in our schools.

Teenagers across the country are receiving the results from exams they took earlier this year in May and June. Despite having many challenges to face, 15 and 16 year olds have recorded excellent achievements at GCSE, with the scholars of Astrea Academy Trust being no exception.

Staff across the trust have gone above and beyond to ensure their scholars were as prepared as possible for their GCSEs. In particular, Astrea schools have offered weekly additional revision across the year, access to trips and overseas residentials and bespoke mentoring programmes where A-level scholars tutored their Y11 peers.

  • At a trust-level, more scholars than ever before achieved strong GCSE results, with record performances in key measures including English and Maths and the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).
  • A8 is the highest in our history. This year’s GCSE results are the strongest in the trust’s history outside the pandemic-affected 2022 grading year.
  • Scholars across the trust performed above the national average across a range of key GCSE measures, including English and Maths attainment and the English Baccalaureate (EBacc).
  • Disadvantaged scholars achieved their strongest GCSE results ever, with record performance across a range of key measures.

Crucial to our aim to disrupt disadvantage – there have been improvements across every measure for disadvantaged scholars.
