We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the MAT Excellence Awards in the ‘Transformation and Impact Award’ category.

All schools in Astrea Academy Trust have been judged to be Good under Ofsted’s old inspection framework and have been shortlisted in awards that are about celebrating excellence and impact in school trusts and businesses.

We have driven rapid transformation across its network of schools and are proud to be part of the 100% club, where all schools within the trust are judged to be Good or better.  For some schools, the Good  standard was achieved for the first time in their history. We are aiming for all of their schools to be amongst the top 5% best performing schools in the country, with a collective ambition of a trust and a community unified by scholarship.

Rowena Hackwood, CEO of Astrea Academy Trust said:

“I am absolutely delighted that Astrea Academy Trust has been shortlisted for our transformational and impactful work. As a trust, our mission is to provide an exceptional, academically-rich education that inspires children to learn, thrive and go on to lead fulfilling lives. This ambition is for all our students, whilst recognising that the most disadvantaged young people will benefit the most from our work.

“I am extremely proud of the academic turnaround we have achieved, both from the work at Primary and in Secondary schools, with significant improvements of results across all areas in 2025. We have committed to improving academic performance and closing achievement gaps, whilst improving our students’ attendance in school.

“None of this work would have been possible without the excellent staff in our schools, teaching and encouraging our students to excel in everything they do, every single day. This recognition by the Multi Academy Trust Awards is central to our teams that put so much into helping our young people believe and succeed.”
