Personal Details
We operate a fair and anonymised recruitment process. Your personal details (e.g. name and address) are not shared with the selection panel. Each application is assigned a unique ID to ensure impartiality.
Employment History
Include details of your current or most recent employment, whether paid or voluntary. Ensure your experience is relevant to the role and include the duration of employment. For teaching roles, please include all part-time or hourly teaching experience.
If you are interested in flexible working arrangements, such as job sharing, please indicate this on your application. We will explore your request during the interview process, although we cannot guarantee all requests can be accommodated.
Previous Experience
List your previous roles starting with the most recent. Include both paid and unpaid experience and explain any gaps in employment. This helps us meet our safeguarding responsibilities and understand your career journey.
Education and Training
Provide details of your formal qualifications and any relevant training, including in-house or professional development courses. If you did not complete a course, please state the reason. We value lifelong learning and professional growth, in line with our commitment to Scholarship.
Supporting Information
This is your opportunity to demonstrate how your experience, skills, and values align with the role and with Astrea’s mission. Reflect on your achievements and how they relate to the person specification.

References
We usually contact referees prior to interview unless you request otherwise. One referee must be your current or most recent employer. If you have not been employed, please provide a reference from an academic tutor or similar.
Criminal Convictions
Roles involving contact with children require enhanced DBS checks. You must declare any convictions, including those considered ‘spent’ under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, if the role involves regulated activity. Failure to disclose relevant convictions may result in withdrawal of an offer or termination of employment.
Shortlisting and Interview
Once applications close, the recruiting panel will review submissions. If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to an interview. This may include a task or presentation depending on the role. We’ll always let you know what to expect in advance.
If you are unavailable on certain dates, please indicate this clearly in your application. While we will try to accommodate requests, interview dates may be fixed and not flexible.
